Private Castle Hire in Scotland

May 31st, 2007

Hiring a private castle in Scotland is a great idea. I had no idea that you could do it until I visited this luxury vacations site. Hiring a castle for corporare functions such as team building exercises would be really cool. There is a good airport at Edinborough, so access can be quick from major European cities.

My favorite private castle is one in Birkhill, Fife. It has a private beach and an heated swimming pool too! You can take a whole bunch of people over there and have a good holiday, or work experience.

If you are having a wedding or other fun function and you decide to to rent a castle, don’t forget to invite me along!!

New Mobile Phone

April 20th, 2007

Every year when my contract comes up for renewal I shop for a new mobile phone. I’m kinda geeky that way, I love to have the latest handset model. New mobile phones that I am considering this year include the Motorola Z8 and the Nokia N95. I have a Nokia N80 at the moment, I have had Nokia symbian phones for years, that is why I am considering the N95 - plus the massive list of features.

The Motorola Z8 handset is just so cool though that this year it might be ‘helo moto!’ Switching phone manufacturers can be pretty sucky though, I once ordered a sony ericsson and returned it to the shop within a day because it was so awkward to use (for me).

The In Road For Buyers of First Time Pasco Wa Homes

April 3rd, 2007

While an auction may not be the best venue for a buyer of Pasco Wa homes unfamiliar with the process, getting a foreclosure property one step farther in the process is indeed a viable option. Because a home purchased from a real estate agent or directly from a bank can be assured to have cleared all of the potential financial claims against it, a first time home buyer can instead have confidence in their purchase that they won’t be pursued as the new Pasco Wa homes owner of the property to settle any debts incurred by the previous owner.

Additionally, navigating the process of purchasing a foreclosure home is simply not familiar to most first time home buyers and as a result, buying under a more standard process with a real estate agent involved offers an easier way to purchase a home for a bit of a financial benefit without having to learn a great deal to do so. A first time home buyer already with a bead on a foreclosure Pasco Wa homes property as a potential target can partner that good intuition up with a simpler process to create a value-laden transaction that will land a first home.

Take Advantage Of Large Kennewick Wa Homes Space

April 3rd, 2007

Most potential buyers of Kennewick Wa homes have an idea of how they want to furnish a property before ever stepping foot into a showing and it is your responsibility to make sure that their vision can be accommodated by the space available in your property while still showing off some of your own ideas that make the specific traits of the home shine through. It is this balance of a potential home buyer’s personal tastes and the way the home can play off of those preconceived notions that will create an environment that a potential buyer of Kennewick Wa homes can envision making their own.

Doing so is largely an exercise in emphasizing the space available in the home, particularly in large areas where much of the potential buyer’s own personality will be projected. Never let a home, when possible, sit with an empty, large space as it will be very difficult for a buyer to envision their own life fitting into Kennewick Wa homes. A potential buyer wants to see a lived-in space that reflects the nature of the property, even though they are probably replacing your sofa in their mind with their own.

Without A Trace, as Reported by Washington Real Estate News

April 3rd, 2007

Entering a home for a showing and being confronted by a set of barking dogs is enough to make some potential buyers not enter the home at all, Washington Real Estate News reports. Similarly, the sight of a clump of cat hair on the sofa can sour some potential buyers as they try to envision themselves in your property. They won’t think you are a bad person or a bad pet owner, but they will come away from a showing with a bad taste in their mouth due in large part to your pet’s effect.

Your job, Washington Real Estate News suggests, is to remove any trace of your pet’s stay in the home, starting with the clutter that can sometimes come from pet toys and food dishes. A cage is fine and a tidy area where a pet spends most of his or her time will not harm a showing, but having a stray dog bone here and a messy food dish there can distract a buyer from the beautiful breakfast nook you keep or the immaculate counter top you just cleaned. Washington Real Estate News recommends not letting your pet become a part of the home evaluation equation.

Sell Tri City Wa Real Estate With Simple Staging Tips

March 29th, 2007

Hiring a staging company to make your Tri City Wa home sparkle is a great way to help your home show better and more readily impress the potential buyers that take showings at your home, but staging is an expense that not all home sellers are willing to invest in. For those sellers, there are some tips that staging companies use to make a home show as well as it possibly can that can be implemented without too much work or hassle. While they will not substitute for a staging company, they can give your home a fresh look.

Capturing the attention of a Tri City Wa buyer that takes a showing with your home is one of the most important and overlooked parts of the home selling process as an inordinate amount of effort goes into generating interest on a property, so letting that interest fall flat with a bad showing is a big detriment to a timely and full price home sale. Don’t let your own home sale fall into that trap and instead use the showing as an opportunity to let the best aspects of your home shine through and communicate value to a buyer looking at the property with a critical eye at every turn.

Staging can be an expensive process and while it certainly spruces up the way a home shows, many sellers bristle at the thought of adding additional expense to the home selling process. For those sellers, emphasizing the current space and showing off new uses for each nook and cranny can help a potential Tri City Wa real estate buyer see themselves in the home and communicate value to those you’ve tried so hard through diligent marketing efforts to get to see your home.

Recognize The Signs in Pasco Wa Real Estate

March 29th, 2007

If something happens to cause a build up of carbon monoxide in your Pasco Wa real estate, you will likely feel the effects. The symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning range from flu-like symptoms at the start to more severe symptoms like a shortness of breath. If you constantly fill a little bit ill when you come home, look into the possibility that you have a carbon monoxide poisoning. Purchasing a detector is the best way to monitor your Pasco Wa real estate whether you feel ill or not, but if you are feeling some effects, investing in one is a necessity to at least eliminate carbon monoxide as a potential cause of your constant sickness.

When purchasing a carbon monoxide monitor, make sure that you buy one that has the ability to fall back on a battery should the power go out as many plug in. Place them near where you sleep to make sure that if an alarm goes off, you won’t simply sleep through it. A loud, clear alarm could be the difference between your ability to wake up and evacuate your family from Pasco Wa real estate and the prospect of sleeping through an alarm. Carbon monoxide detectors are typically not expensive and with a small cash outlay, you can remove a potential worry from your home and rest easier at night.

Richland Real Estate ~ Pack With Your Pet In Mind

March 29th, 2007

One of the ways movers can get into trouble is by packing away valuable information that they may need on moving day for Richland real estate. Under a pile of boxes that all look the same, finding a piece of paper or bottle of medicine can be an exercise in finding a needle in a haystack. The same applies to your pet’s veterinary records, medications and other critical items that might be necessary on moving day. With all of the hustle and bustle around a move, it is entirely possible for something to happen to your pet. When moving Richland real estate, consider the worst case scenario for your pet and plan for it.

In that same vein, make sure that the identification for your pet is on the pet at all times and up to date should the hectic nature of moving cause you to misplace your pet. Proper and securely fastened identification is critical to a pet at any time, but especially so during a move that can expose the pet to sights and situations that could cause it to spook and run. Don’t let what should be an exciting day moving into a new Richland real estate home turn into a search for the family dog without proper identification.

High Cholesterol

March 29th, 2007

Having a high cholesterol is bad for our health, everyone knows that. But most people don’t know much about the causes, symptoms and effects of high cholesterol.

High cholesterol can be genetic and hereditary to some degree. There isn’t much an individual can do about hereditary cholesterol, but drugs do exist to help. The other cause of high cholesterol is bad diet.

The effects of high cholesterol include coronary problems (heart problems) such a heart attack. Strokes are often associated with very high cholesterol levels.

The Difficulty Of Moving On in West Richland Wa Real Estate

March 26th, 2007

The reason the value of a West Richland Wa home can become such an issue for a seller is the amount of emotional attachment to the home fostered over a million memories created in the home, no matter how long the seller happened to live there. A seller is aware of all of the little things that were done to the home, the minor improvements here and there that have taken the home from its raw state at purchase to the mature home that is now on the market for a new owner. That transition can produce many mixed feelings, one of them an over-inflated image of what West Richland real estate is worth.

As difficult as it may be, the best advice for a seller is to remain as neutral as possible during the home’s sale process, using an impartial eye to look at the home as it stands in relation to other homes in the area with a similar set of amenities. Doing so will help a West Richland Wa seller not only get out of the way of the pricing process targeted at selling the home quickly, but will take away some of the stress the home selling process can create with every step along the way.

The Pet Perfect Tri City Wa Real Estate

March 26th, 2007

If Tri City Wa real estate pet owners are one thing, it is devoted to their pets, so it should come as not surprise that the market for pet friendly properties has grown significantly over time in accordance with the growth of pet ownership. As a potential home buyer looking for a new property for you and your pet, there are a few traits you can look for to make sure that you will be happy with your new home and your pet will feel just as welcomed as you do.

For those with a pet as a valued part of the family, making sure that Tri City Wa home will not only accommodate a pet, but that a pet is even allowed in the particular community is a part of the real estate process that might not be a part otherwise. You will want to not only make sure that a home will accommodate your pet when you take a showing, but also discuss it before hand with your real estate agent so that he or she will keep it in mind when turning up properties for you to look at.

Pet owners are a growing segment of the population and Tri City Wa real estate well suited for these pet owners are out there for the picking. However, you have to work with your real estate agent to define the kind of amenities you are looking for to ensure that you will see homes that will improve the quality of life for you, your family and your pets.

Washington Real Estate News and The Zillow Sweet Spot

March 26th, 2007

Zillow is one of the most interesting sites on the Internet, Washington Real Estate News reports, as far as its attempt to evaluate vastly different properties and augmenting that service with features like aerial maps and listings for sale in the area to first bring in potential buyers with a cool service like home values and then selling them something through the additional services offered. However, the information available is only reliable in relatively homogeneous areas and cannot replace the ability of a real estate agent to either determine the value of your home for sale or pinpoint areas a potential buyer’s budget will allow a home purchase.

Those homes that see their value most accurately reported by Zillow are those that are easily comparable to homes near by for approximate value, Washington Real Estate News reports. Homes located either in rural areas where there simply aren’t many nearby homes to use as comparable properties or those that lie in neighborhoods full of homes that vary wildly in appearance and amenities will see value estimates that could fluctuate significantly from their actual value.

Where a real estate agent can accommodate these types of homes by using the human touch to dig deeper for comparable homes or modifying a Washington Real Estate News valuation in accordance with the information available, Zillow’s software program does not have that advantage. If homes nearby are not reliable for determining a value, the estimate produced could be vastly different from the kind of value a real estate agent’s comparative market analysis would derive.

Kennewick Wa Real Estate ~ Many Barriers Exist Already

March 26th, 2007

As anyone with an expired MLS listing or seven-month stay on the market will tell you, there are a number of reasons Kennewick Wa real estate may not sell. A home may not be in a great location, it may not show very well, it may pale in comparison to other similar homes in the area and it may simply not garner the level of interest it needs to see an offer. Simply put, there are enough potential barriers to a Kennewick Wa real estate sale already inherent to the process without adding a seller’s desire for a particular sales price into the mix.

Understanding that can greatly reduce a seller’s stubbornness in sticking to a particular price point as any seller has the goal of a timely transaction in mind. Sticking to an unwieldy price for Kennewick Wa real estate will only elongate the process, delaying a subsequent move and perhaps putting undue strain on a process that can already create a great deal of stress in the minds of some sellers.

Everyone could do with a little extra money, and most people would like a lot more! WoW Gold Price List

March 25th, 2007

One thing with buying World of Warcraft Gold is that you need to keep a constant eye on the market price to be sure you get the best value for your $. Checking out different vendors can be a pain so I follow the prices on WoW Gold Price List. They also have a European section for WoW gold for European servers.

With over 8.5 million subscribers World of Warcraft is the most massive online game community. The market for WoW is fairly stable, but you should always be sure to buy from a reputable WoW gold vendor. WoW Gold Price list covers the major WoW gold currency vendors.

World of Warcraft Gold

March 25th, 2007

I’m a big fan of World of Warcraft, but sometimes it can be hard work. To speed things up a little I buy World of Warcraft Gold. It is really good to be able to buy weapons and other things like the horse I bought last week without having to play for hours and hours doing some mundane stuff to amass enough WoW gold to buy the things I want.

Many WoW entrepreneurs have set up in business farming gold as well as other enterprises such as power levelling. These players are only in the game to make as much gold as possible to sell to people like me and you. If you want to buy WoW gold I would recommend that you don’t trade with these people, rather visit a reputable website like World of Warcraft Gold.

Modern Private Investigation

March 19th, 2007

Being a PI or Private Investigator in the modern world is much different to the way it was even just 10 years ago. Modern tools including the internet and electronics equipment have made the job of the Private Investigator much more complicated. For simple cases such as finding someone who has skipped town then the internet has made things far simpler, but trying to investigate someone or an organization who know the ‘tricks of the trade’ has become much more difficult.

As surveillance equipment has improved, so has counter surveillance. In a mini arms race manufacturers are bringing out new equipment almost every day. It seems that ‘who spends most wins’ - however, a Private Investigators connections can be as valuable as his equipment.

Nuclear Power: Is it The Answer?

March 16th, 2007

Is nuclear power the answer to todays pollution and global warming problems? Humans demand for power continues to rise; new superpowers such as China and India are rising and demanding the same decadent luxury devices as those that US consumers have had for decades.

Nuclear power technology is clean and green - so long as it is safe. Several past nuclear accidents have shown that nuclear power safety needs to be given high priority if new power stations are to be built.

Read more about nuclear power and make up your mind - should it be the power source that Earth is to use for the next century?

Find a Job

March 16th, 2007

Finding the right job can be time consuming and difficult. Being in the wrong job can be a very uncomfortable experience - anyone who has spent time doing a job they dislike will tell you this!

Writing a resume is the first step to finding a job. Your resume is the ‘key to the door’ - it is going to get you an interview for the job… providing it is well written.

After the resume comes the job interview. make sure your shoes are polished, your clothes are clean and ironed, your hair is neat, and your personal hygene is good. Greet the interviewer with a handshake and do not sit down until invited. Bod language is important in an interview situation.

After the interview, you may get called back for a second interview, or granted the job. Good luck!

Leaving your home country and setting out to make a new life somewhere else is a life changing experience. He also has the Pretty Hair playset, which has a two-story house inside and room for all the dolls, and also the black dog. Other items in this set include a comb and mirror for checking and styling his hair.

Anonymous Surfing with Proxies

March 16th, 2007

Sometimes we all wish to browse a website without leaving behind personally identifiable information. The recent AOL release of searchers information has only served to increase the average surfers awareness of the dangers of allowing too much personal information out on to the web.

Anonymous surfing can do two things for you:

  • Stop the website you are browsing collecting your information
  • Prevent eavesdroppers from watching your network connection and gathering information

There are now a good deal of online services and software packages to enable simple anonymous surfing. Most involve the use of a proxy server to relay information to the website on your behalf.

eBay Tricks and Tips

March 16th, 2007

I love eBay, as do many of my family and friends. When my mother found out I used sniping software to win auctions she thought I was doing something against the rules - but now she uses it all the time herself! When buying on eBay you need to take advantage in any way you can. Sniping an auction involves putting in a last minute bid on an item (or last second if you can). This technique avoids driving up the price of an item you want by bidding against other eBayers - you just set the price you are willing to pay, and hope that no-one else is sniping the auction.

This process has been automated by various pieces of software, so it is now possible to snipe an auction in your sleep! Sometimes I feel sorry for other bidders that have been watching the auction throughout its 5, 7 or 10 days only to see the item they wanted being sniped away at the last moment, but that feeling usually dies away quietly when I realise I have the item I wanted at a bargain price, and I start singing the eBay song!

Business Credit Cards

March 15th, 2007

Getting finance for your business (for example, to purchase equipment or services) can be difficult. Bank managers often don’t perceive your needs in the same way that you do. Often, when applying for finance for your business you will be asked to put up personal collateral such as your house.

Business credit cards (or Corporate Cards) can help you avoid these problems as they are generally much easier to apply for and get approved on than business loans. New Business Credit Cards can also offer better interest rates than business loans in many cases.

The flexibility offered by credit cards as opposed to traditional loans is another plus point.

The Bruntsfield is a popular choice for Edinburgh short breaks due to its great location only minutes away from the Old Town district, and Princes Street (a shoppers paradise!)

Whatever you do in Edinburgh, you will find the city quite charming, and you are sure to take away many happy memories of your stay.

Certificate of Deposit Investments

February 28th, 2007

A Certificate of Deposit (often known as CD for short) is a safe investment offered by banks and credit unions. CD’s are risk-free because they are insured by the FDIC or NCUA, and can form a good backbone for a sensible investment strategy. Investment in a CD is generally over a fixed term, be it 3 months or 3 years, usually at a fixed interest rate.

Finding the Highest CD Rates is, of course, a priority for investors. As CD’s are considered to be ‘money in the bank’ or a safe investment, the way to maximise the return on investment should be simply finding the best interest rate. There are, however, many different CD products to choose from, so research well before committing your money.

I hope we get one of the new quads down at the surf club soon :)

Paid Posting, A Great Job If You Love To Chat

February 16th, 2007

When a new internet forum is started, generally there will be a bunch of friends who share an interest in a similar topic. Sometimes a new forum can seem a bit bleak and quiet, which does not attract new members quickly a they think noone is going to read what they write.

There is a service to kick start new forums called paid posting. Paid posting pay forum posters to contribute to forums to get things started and build up conversations, encoraging new members to join and also replying to new posters and engaging them in conversation.

Paid posting is a great job if you love chatting and hanging around forums.

Stuff to make you say WTF?

February 10th, 2007

Did you catch the Superbowl on Feb 4th? I wonder if you figure as part of the amazing statistic that 90 million people flushed 350 million gallons of water down their toilets during the half time break?

You might ask where I found such an amazing statistic - WTF stuff of course! My favorite site for weird news and odd facts and figures. WTF stuff is a news site with a twist. The author collects news on celebrities, movies and stupid people and gives the stories his own twist. Sometimes it is a little bit of a rant, sometimes just stunned amazement, but always WTF!

Check out WTF stuff today. Your life won’t be complete until you do :)

Awesome Directory

February 10th, 2007

Cheetah Find Web Directory is a combination of a web directory and a free stuff site. You could even describe it as a web portal as it is very comprehensive in the areas it covers. If you are a web designer you will appreciate the useful free web templates the directory offers, as well as the clipart that can be used on your own site, and hit counters for finding out who is visiting your website.

For the general public who might not find those tools so useful there are many other great reasons to visit, including a unique news service, a free online photo album where you can upload pictures to share with family and friends, and some useful calculators for stuff like currency exchange rates and loan/credit repayments.

As Seen On TV Products For Less

February 10th, 2007

I have been hunting for birthday presents again. Some people are just so hard to buy for, and that goes double for my cousin James. He’s one of these blokes who just goes out and buys anything he wants and so when it is birthday time there is nothing left he wants.

I think I have found a website that solves this problem for me from now on, As Seen on TV Products. They stock all the things from the As Seen On TV people, all the clever things you never knew you wanted until you saw them. James is getting a MXZ saw - a man tool that is tough enough to cut through brick and steel!

Home and Garden Improvements

February 10th, 2007

When you can’t find something in your local home and hardware store it can pay to turn to the internet instead. I have been looking for a gnome for a gift (a friends birthday who is nutty about gnomes!) but I couldn’t find a suitable one in our local home & garden store. I checked out Home & Garden Decor at OnlineDiscountMart.com (the popular online retailer) and found a perfect gnome straight away. I think I’m gonna call him Harry - he even has a built in solar light :)

There is plenty of variety in the store - much more than you would find at any offline garden store. The prices are so good that the price of postage is cancelled out. I will be buying from them again :)

So Very Wrong

February 8th, 2007

Every been on a stag do? or a boys trip abroad? To my amazement there is a website which gathers and publishes stag stories and pictures of stag weekends and what naughties lads have been up to. They’ve also got a collection of pictures of their favorite ladies… not just the ones they hooked up with on the weekends either. If you’re looking for stag party ideas the site is well worth a look.

Dry Cleaners

February 6th, 2007

If you need curtain cleaning or laundry service in London then I recommend my mates business Dry Cleaners London. They can remove unsightly stains without damaging delicate fabrics and they carry full insurance. They can also come to your house or office and clean your curtains on site (and they even re-hang them for you).

Check out the website or give them a call for a free estimate.

Learning Italian

February 3rd, 2007

I write another blog concerned with health and aromatherapy. I learned some new Italian words today:

Italian is such a vibrant, passionate language I would seriously consider learning it in depth if I was spending more time in Europe. As it is I will have to look on at all the stylish guys in Leichardt (one of Sydney’s Italian suburbs) and wonder at what they are saying!

Prime Rates: An Introduction

January 29th, 2007

Prime rates are the rate of interest charged by banks to their most trusted clients. Prime rates are generally set at 300 points above the federal reserve rate, which is the rate that banks use when lending to each other.

The Wall Street Journal Prime Rate (or WSJ Prime Rate) is a rate published by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), and is defined as “The base rate on corporate loans posted by at least 75% of the nation’s 30 largest banks.” The rate published in the Wall Street Journal is used as the basis for most lenders when calculating interest rates to apply to loans and credit cards.

If the WSJ Prime Rate increases then consumer credit costs rise, and if the rate falls then consumer credit costs fall. If you have a non-fixed-rate debt then you can expect its cost to move roughly in line with the WSJ Prime Rate.

Adobe Photoshop And The Design Process

January 22nd, 2007

I was working with a client the other day discussing design and layout ideas for his website. We were drawing on pieces of paper, sketching away, but I couldn’t get across to him the ideas I was trying to confer.

As my work is usually centered around SEO rather than web design it has been a while since I have used Photoshop, but he had it installed on the PC I was using at his office so I told him to come back to me in a couple of hours. I actually surprised myself with the speed I came up with a page layout and mock-up of artwork for him to look at. I think really the secret lies in how good photoshop actually is.

I enjoyed it so much that I have decided that I am going to do some Photoshop work on my own projects rather than contracting out. Maybe the finished result won’t be perfect, and it might take me longer than the designers I usually use, but it is really good fun! There are plenty of photoshop tutorials on the net, and the glossy photoshop magazines in the newsagents always look attractive. Maybe it will be a Sunday morning thing for me down at the coffee shop.

UK Domains

January 16th, 2007

Continuing on the theme of UK websites, to market effectively in the UK a UK domain name is required - many of my financially successful sites have had a UK domain name.

The great thing about UK domains is that it is still possible to pick up really good keyword domains; everyone has heard of .co.uk domains, but did you know that .org.uk (for organisations) and .me.uk (for personal sites) are also available. They’re cheap as chips too - much cheaper than global TLD’s (such as .com).

One cheap UK domain registrar is Buy domain name; you can pick up a UK domain from 2.70GBP/year (around $5).

Search Marketing Opportunities

January 15th, 2007

Sometimes it is the random opportunities that come along that make Internet marketing so enjoyable (well, to me anyway!). John Gall describes a somewhat random experience in his search marketing blog. He happened across a great opportunity for marketing with MSN - it is recognising opportunities like these that differentiates a great marketer from an average one.

It isn’t too often that you find SEO’s sharing their tips whilst they are live, and this is no exception. John writes that this opportunity has now passed, but you can be sure that there are dozens of similar opportunities out there waiting to be exploited.

John also has some good info on AdSense niches, ones to avoid & ones to target. He gives away a little more than I would!

Suburban House Hunters

January 13th, 2007

Looking to buy or sell a house in Northern Illinois? Why not give Ken Smith of Chicago real estate agents Suburban House Hunters a call? Ken has a team of professionals that can help with every step of buying and selling a home.

Dealing with the right agent is the most important thing in buying and selling homes and houses. Ken and his team offer guarantees for both buyers and sellers, and you can be sure that you will never be locked in or ‘held to ransom’ by the contracts as can happen with other realtors.

Suburban House Hunters cover the whole of Northern Illinois including Arlington and Algonqiun.

Web Marketing And Real Estate

January 13th, 2007

News for Realtors is a blog I came across today, it’s great, it combines two of my business passions, real estate and online marketing.

I found something new there, Ken has posted about a niche social network for real estate agents. This highlights the way that the whole web is developing - who would have thought a year or two ago that there would be an online social network for realtors.

The other area I enjoyed were Ken’s posts on lead generation companies. He has some good information there including stories written in from readers of his blog.
